Jarrow Formula Toco-Sorb is a dietary supplement which contains natural vitamin E in a form of a mixture of tocopherols (alpha-, beta-, delta- and gamma-tocopherol) and tocotrienols (alpha-, beta-, delta- and gamma-tocotrienol), obtained from the seeds of the red palm tree. The product contains a patented Tocomin SupraBio complex, which shows a 3-times higher bioavailability of tocotrienols.

Vitamin E is an oil-soluble compound which shows strong antioxidant properties. It protects the body system from oxidative stress and cell damage caused by free radicals. Moreover, it participates in the delivery of nutritional substances to the cells, strengthens the walls of blood vessels and protects the erythrocytes from premature break-up, which extends their life and biological activity. It is also used in the treatment of male infertility, arteriosclerosis, heart diseases and muscle disorders.

Tocotrienols are natural compounds, extremely valuable for the health. They contribute to the improvement of systemic health parameters. They also improve the functions of particular tissues and organs. However, their actions should be considered rather systemic. The bioavailability of these compounds is not very high. Due to this fact, the Doctor's Best specialists used a patented and proprietary SupraBio formula, which improves the absorptions of tocotrienols up to 3 times.

The biological functions of vitamin E and tocotrienols
Tocotrienols have a significant impact on the proper biosynthesis of cholesterol. They also reduce the oxidation of low-density lipoproteins (LDL, as well as maintain the proper brain function. The recent studies on these underestimated forms of vitamin E provided new possibilities to fight the risk factors of numerous diseases.

Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant of polyunsaturated fatty acids and phospholipids, which are contained in cell membranes. It also takes part in the metabolic processes. The presence of tocopherols and tocotrienols, contained in a form of vitamin E, protects the body system from aging, because these compounds can effectively neutralize free radicals.

What is more, tocotrienols cause apoptosis – a programmed death of neoplasm cells. Apoptosis is also an essential factor in reducing existing tumors, which may explain the increasing use of tocotrienols in the treatment of patients.

Influence on the functions of cardiovascular system
Vitamin E is used, among others, in the treatment of muscle disorders and heart diseases. Moreover, it reduces the risk of angina pectoris and heart attack. Its application shortly after a heart attack can prevent the expansion of the zone of muscle damage. It has been also demonstrated that the compound inhibits atherosclerosis and prevents the development of cancer. Vitamin E reduces the degradation of erythrocytes. It facilitates the delivery of oxygen, which is contained in them, to all cells of the body system. Furthermore, it strengthens blood vessels, makes them more flexible and reduces coagulation.

Healthy skin, hair and nails
In cosmetics, vitamin E plays a role of an excellent antioxidant, which stabilizes the structure of unsaturated fats. Moreover, together with vitamin A, it is used in the treatment of acne vulgaris and eczema. Vitamin E alleviates irritated and sunburned skin. It also has anti-inflammatory and anti-swelling properties.

Moreover, it easily penetrates through the epidermis and builds into the intercellular cement, providing nourishment and improving skin elasticity. As an active ingredient, vitamin E not only soothes, moisturizes, smoothes and firms the skin, but also supports the treatment of discoloration and relieves symptoms of contact dermatitis.

Vitamin E deficiency increases the risk of inflammations, infectious and cardiovascular diseases.

Not without significance is the fact that vitamin E is resistant to high temperatures. However it breaks up under the influence of light and oxygen. That is why its additional supplementation is so important. Tocotrienols are oil-soluble vitamins. They provide general benefits for the body system. Therefore, when choosing a dietary supplement Jarrow Formulas Toco-Sorb, you choose the purest form of easily absorbed tocopherols, tocotrienols and vitamin E.
