AH Astaxanthin is a dietary supplement containing natural astaxanthin obtained from algae.

Natural astaxanthin

Astaxanthin is a compound from the carotenoid group and, at the same time, a natural pink pigment that gives color to many organisms: fish, crustaceans and some microorganisms. In this product, astaxanthin comes from the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis, which is the richest source found in nature. This carotenoid is sometimes called one of the most powerful antioxidants found in nature.

In one of the scientific publications* on the properties of astaxanthin, its antioxidant activity was defined as "distinguished from other antioxidants by the highest oxygen radical absorption capacity (ORAC), 100-500 times higher than α-tocopherol and 10 times higher free radical inhibition activity than related antioxidants (α-tocopherol, α-carotene, β-carotene, lutein and lycopene).”
