Apollo's Hegemony Melatonin is a dietary supplement in tablet form. One suggested serving contains 1mg of melatonin. The active ingredient is encapsulated in tablets that have a divider that allows the tablet to be easily divided in half.
Melatonin is a hormone produced by the cells of the pineal gland - pinealocytes. Melatonin secretion is closely correlated with the circadian rhythm of sleep and wakefulness.

Melatonin:
- helps alleviate the subjective sensation of sudden time zone change syndrome (beneficial effects occur when 0.5 mg is consumed shortly before going to bed on the first day of travel and for several more days after arriving at the destination);
- helps reduce the time it takes to fall asleep (beneficial effect occurs when 1 mg of melatonin is consumed shortly before going to bed).
