ALINESS Iodine is a dietary supplement which contains a high dose of potassium iodide per serving. The formula helps effectively make up deficiencies of this element in diet. A gel coating protects the digestive system from irritation and eliminates an unpleasant smell of this microelement. Adequate iodine intake is essential to normal function of the thyroid and the whole body.
Iodine – is a mineral required for normal production of thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). These are hormones produced by the thyroid which have an impact on practically every cell in the body. Their normal production maintains good health in adults and is necessary for healthy foetal development. This element sensitises the pituary gland to thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH, thyroliberin) and consequently stimulates thyrotropin secretion. It is a hormone produced by the pituary gland which stimulates the thyroid into producing T3 and T4. What is more, iodine is critical to the conversion of T3 into T4 which is the most active compound.
