Ajuga reptans, i.e. blue bugle, is a herb belonging to the family of herbaceous flowering plants with interesting pro-health properties. It appears i.a. in North Africa, West Asia and Europe, while in Poland it is a common plant.
According to some sources, blue bugle has properties inhibiting bleeding and supports the healing of cuts, therefore it may be used even in case of internal hemorrhages. This happens thanks to tannins, which appear in its composition. It probably demonstrates slight analgesic effect and may clear the liver from toxic substances.
Ajuga reptans also potentially influences thyroid glands and more precisely - it may have positive influence on their excessive activity. It also alleviates cough and supports the treatment of rheumatism.
