Ergot - spores of a fungus parasitic, occurring on the grass spikes (primarily rye) as a dark cones rich in bioactive substances. It includes, among others, indole alkaloids, such as ergotamine, ergometrine; biogenic amines (such as histamine, tyramine), phytosterols, dyes and oil fat. It is used as a antihaemorrhagic medicine and improves blood circulation, used only on the doctor’s prescription. Not be given drug during menstruation, pregnancy and the first few months after birth especially in connection with peripheral vascular disease and coronary heart disease and kidney, liver and lung. Drug based Ergot is produced by Herbapol "Coffecorn".
