Glutamic acid is one of the 22 amino acids that build proteins, produced in the human body of most of the amino acids (such as glutamine, alpha-ketoglutarate, etc.). It has a function of the stimulating neurotransmitter, allowing for the better memory. It is the precursor of GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid). The use of glutamic acid in sport supplementation has a limited range, due to the possible negative side effects in the nervous system. Replaced by the glutamic acid (glutamine) which is limiting or even eliminatng, side effects.
