Purple Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) is a plant occurring in Central and Western Europe (in Poland in the Silesian Beskid and in the Sudetenland under the full protection), grown on special plantations for medicinal purposes. Medicinal raw material is a leaf of foxglove purple - Folium Digitalis purpurea, contains flavonoids, glycosides (including cardiac glycosides), steroidal saponins, mucus and minerals. Used only with a prescription for heart diseases (strengthens the heart muscle, increases contractility of heart, reduces arrhythmia, in certain doses. Contraindications to use doses greater than those prescribed by a doctor and the interruption of use in case of feeling any side effects (e.g. an additional heart contractions , palpitations).
